Creating art brings meaning, satisfaction and joy to Linda’s life.
She started her adult life as a draftsperson, working in Vancouver for engineering companies, until she could save enough to go to art college. She got her degree in Graphic Art, but constantly painted and had private and gallery shows in her spare time. She has sold watercolour, acrylic, and multi media paintings to collectors all over Canada, Australia, Great Britain, the U.S.A. and Hawaii.
During those years Linda also painted many indoor acrylic murals in nursing homes and public spaces in Calgary, Victoria, and Brisbane, Australia.
Now that she enjoys the luxury of being a full time artist, she chooses her media to fit her mood, subject matter, desired texture and saturation of colour. She enjoys working with resin collage on furniture, jewelry boxes and trays. She is continuously inventing new approaches for using recycled glass, jewelry, stones, seashells and other found objects in her art work; whatever surface she chooses.
She constantly renews her love of flowers, ocean and nature, allowing her to paint ‘en plein air’ or from her wonderful studio in East Sooke.
Linda has a lifelong interest and passion for nature which comes through in her artwork.
