We are seeking submissions that explore time, something that we do not just move through, but something we are. We encourage artists to stretch, shrink, and shift their work according to their feelings about time’s endlessness or how things age or the rushing nature of it. Works might explore ideas beyond length and how we inhabit it, or how it wears us down, gives and takes, builds and breaks.
We speak of time as a force outside us — it flies, it drags, it runs out. But as Borges said, “I am the river… I am the fire.” We are the current, the burning, the change. Living in the moment is hard. We’re pulled backward by memory, forward by desire. However, we can choose how we relate to time — whether we cling to the past, chase the future, or fully embrace the present. There’s no one way to be on time, just as there’s no one way to live.
