Deadline for entries: January 13, 2023.
The show will run February 3 to March 26, 2023.
Please read these instructions fully AND read through our general submission guidelines at https://metchosinartpod.ca/submission-guidelines as these go over important general information about copyright and originality, as well as where and when works can have previously been shown and other general information. Then use the following show specific guidelines.
Iterations Show-Specific Guidelines:
For the Iterations show, we are looking for works in series of greater than two. Each series will be cohesive, unified, and coherent. Each piece will be strong enough to stand on its own, but taken together the series will elevate the viewer’s experience.
As we are a small brick-and-mortar gallery and wish to represent as many different artists as possible, preference may be given to series that can be hung vertically and/or grouped, or that only take up a smaller space, to a maximum wall area of 3’w x 6’h. If parts of a larger series can be displayed in a smaller number with integrity, larger works may be considered.
To accommodate people working in a variety of sizes, the following are the submission fees. These fees are ONLY for the Iterations show.
Submission Fees
Please use the framed dimensions and the spacing between pieces in the series when deciding whether the works will fill 3′, 6′ or 9′ linear feet of horizontal wall space. Works in a series may have multiple sizes, therefore the artist must calculate the required wall or floor space required to properly hang the work. In the dimensions field enter the physical dimension of the space required for your series.
For this show we are setting our fees based on each 3′ (3 feet) of horizontal wall space x 6’ maximum height (or for 3D work, multiples of 3 feet squared).
If your entire framed SERIES can fit within 0-3′ (feet) HORIZONTAL wall space (3D: up to 9 square feet of floor space) you need only fill out ONE (1) application. You can attach up to 10 pictures of the individual parts of your series per application. Submission Fee: $10
If your entire framed SERIES can fit within a 3-6′ (feet) HORIZONTAL wall space (3D: up to 18 square feet of floor space) you will need to submit TWO (2) applications. Name each entry with the series name followed by the appropriate roman numeral (eg: Finding Shangri-La I and II). Include individual pictures of every piece (each ArtCall entry can accommodate 10 pictures). $10/application (x 2 )= Submission Fee of $20
If your entire framed SERIES fits within a 6-9′ (feet) HORIZONTAL wall space (3D: up to 27 square feet of floor space) you will need to submit THREE (3) applications. Name each application with the series name followed by the appropriate roman numeral (eg: Finding Shangri-La I, II and III). Include individual pictures of every piece (each ArtCall entry can accommodate 10 pictures). $10/application (x 3 )= Submission Fee of $30
Each artist can submit up to THREE (3) APPLICATIONS (so this might be up to 3 series, if all are small). We reserve the right to select a smaller sample of a series if we find we are limited in space.
Hanging Fees
If your application(s) is (are) accepted by our juror, you will also be asked to pay a hanging fee, which ArtCall calls a Booth Fee. Booth/hanging fees are the same dollar amounts as the submission fees laid out above, but are only applied to accepted works.
Other Items
Under “Category” select “Fine Art”.
Under “Booth” use the arrow to the right to drop down and choose “1x1x1 Juried in Hanging Fee” (this will be charged later, if work is juried into the show).
Once you pay your submission fee, you will be prompted to upload images. Please submit images of each of the works in your series. If you have more than 10 works per application, please upload representative images of 10 works, and note on the submissions page the actual total number of works under “How many pieces/ parts are in this submission?” and “How many pieces are part of the complete series?”, so we understand your intent. Also, there is a more open submission field where you can add information like names and prices of individual pieces in the series.
Pricing: In the Sale Price Field, input the cost of one of the individual parts of the series. Also fill into the other fields the pricing of the various individual pieces in the series, or the series as a whole, as appropriate. Also fill in information about the cost of the entire series.
