In the early 80’s I went through Ontario College of Art in their experimental arts department, followed up by honouring the practical and scientific side of my personality and became a pharmacist. It has been the perfect job for allowing me the freedom to be creative during my off hours.
Over the years, I have participated in a few group shows with my digital painting. I love digital, but something just too enticing about physical mark-making and getting messy always pulls me back to oil or acrylics and other media. I currently work in various mediums: acrylic, oils, cold wax, pastels, and charcoal, as well as digital painting, stitch and rug hooking. I am primarily interested in abstract figurative and narrative work.
In the past few years, I have been involved with the Alfrescoe plein aire painting group, doing weekly portraits with Artpod, and taking art courses to improve my skills.
I may have been born in Toronto, Ontario and travelled the world, but there is no place I would rather be than here in Metchosin. When I paint, I like to feel the wind on my back, connecting me to my home and the world around me.
