Metchosin ArtPod Gallery invites artists of all disciplines to submit work for Thread: Weaving Narratives, an exhibition exploring fibre and thread as both material and metaphor.

This fibre-forward exhibition welcomes submissions in any medium — painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, textiles, digital work, mixed media, installations, and more — that respond to the idea of threads as connectors, storytellers, and agents of disruption, transformation, and renewal. We are interested in work that uses fibre or thread directly, as well as work that interprets their qualities or symbolism through other materials and approaches.

Artists are invited to consider themes such as connection, memory, family, migration, identity, labour, and community, or to explore the formal aesthetics that emerge when weaving patterns, structures, and tensions into shape. Works may be intimate in scale or immersive and expansive. We especially welcome artwork that engages the senses, draws from personal or cultural narratives, or creates emotional or conceptual impact.

Whether your practice is rooted in fibre traditions, influenced by textile histories, or conceptually engages with the idea of thread through other media, your perspective is valued.

All artists are encouraged to apply. We look forward to seeing how you weave your story into this exhibition!
