Sometimes, the closer you look the more interesting things you see.
Once I noticed how strange and interesting fungi are, my attention was drawn down to the forest floor. I began looking beneath the plants, often underneath the mushrooms themselves.
It’s not just fungi; I like to examine plants as well as scenes that might otherwise be looked over. There are beautiful and intricate structures all around us, often too small to notice or too familiar to spend time examining. Even decay can be beautiful.
Most subjects in this exhibit are smaller than a pea: these are some of the tiny wonders I’ve found in the understory.
